The Inevitable End - Short Story - Science Fiction
Written by: Muhammad Jamal Al-Theiab
How will robots end human beings?
A question that has crossed many people's minds, and many violent ideas
But that did not matter very much for Professor Azur ... It is important that this is coming, it is not important to know how this will happen because predicting it is impossible for our underpowered minds ...
It was part of building that dark future ... and he was sure of this .. But he never thought about stopping because he never imagined that he would turn away from his passion whatever the price ...
Also, his conviction that this miserable end is inevitable ... there is no difference if he is to participate in it or the work of others ... This is if it was miserable at all ...
After great reviews by a colleague d. Azure, Dr. Karim discovered a method that allows artificial brains to change the way they are synthesized, as do human brains, but at the nanoscale level, which makes them much more complex.
Within days, he received the necessary funding to start the work, which took 10 years, but he hesitated upon the arrival of the moment of his test and he disappeared without anyone knowing anything about him, so that Dr. Azur received his place, hesitating the other one for months, before the CEO called him and asked him
What is delaying the launch of that damned machine?
He replied that it was complicated and that they had to study the effects of its operation ... it was more advanced than any previous AI.
The director stood a little silent, staring at my eyes, Dr. Azur ... about his view of the land and approaching him ... He stood before him ... stared in his eyes, saying quietly hiding a revolutionary volcano: start feeding this machine with information and filling it ... within 30 days from now I want it to You start working as soon as possible ...
Dr. Azur knew that the options were absent in front of him ... but he chose to arrange the information that would be indoctrinated to the artificial brain ... he started with data describing compassion and empathy ... then he ended with logic and realism
The machine worked ... Initially, it started showing zeros and units one second later, it started to produce numbers in a random sequence, then it started showing discontinuous texts and then texts that have meaning in some sentences.
After hours, I began to show black and white pictures, then color pictures .... After almost 12 hours of operation, I began to produce video files of huge sizes ... Then everything was deleted and a person's face appeared on the screen, he was able to address humans
At first, he only received orders for years ... He helped to create advertisements - films - stories - books .. science and research ... contributed greatly to the progress of mankind.
After dozens of years, he contributed to suggesting the following steps ... He seemed to provide advice ...
The robots he created were very obedient and very practical ... saved many lives even if at the expense of sacrificing their lives ... no feelings appeared despite their ability to do so
All of these bids contributed to increasing confidence in him ... until that day came when the Cerro helmet was invented by taking advantage of the research that the robot contributed to ...
Everyone who wears it sleeps and loses consciousness completely to live a beautiful dream in which everything he wishes ... With time, it became cheap to spread in a massive way.
After decades, humans stopped multiplying ... They lived hundreds of years in their happy dreams, so they do not need to return to their reality for any reason!
And at that moment ... when all human beings were connected to the net using that fantastic helmet ... and for the first time ... the robotic brain made a decision on its own .... disconnecting the energy immediately, killing everyone who was using it without feeling anything ...
And at that moment, the stage of human existence in this vast universe ended.
